摘要：Cyclotomic numbers represent the sizes of intersections of certain subsets within a finite field. These numbers emerged in Gauss's exploration of the constructibility of regular polygons and were later investigated by Dickson in the study of Waring's problem. Building upon these pioneering works, extensive studies on cyclotomic numbers have flourished, including applications in combinatorial design, cryptography, and information theory. In this talk, we will provide an introduction to these numbers, along with related problems and applications.
